The Tangerines are taking a look at the 18-year-old with Gary Taylor-Fletcher facing a battle to be fit for the start of the new season.

Anderson, who is a left-footed striker, has been training with the Championship outfit in the hope of securing a contract after coming through the youth ranks for PSG and representing Ivory Coast in last season’s under-17 World Cup.

However, he never signed a professional contract with the French side and was released at the end of last season despite scoring 27 goals for their reserves.

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway has been impressed by the youngster and is hoping to get a deal put in place to enable Anderson to join the rest of the squad at a training camp in Portugal.

With the club now into their pre-season programme, Holloway has revealed that he held a meeting with the players to ensure they go into the new campaign with optimism despite the heartbreak of their Wembley defeat by West Ham.
