Chelsea are looking to add Dutch full-back Gregory van der Wiel to their ranks after confirming the signing of Eden Hazard.
The Blues finally announced the capture of Hazard on Monday after the midfielder passed a medical but Roman Abramovich will push ahead with more signings despite not having a manager in place.
It remains to be seen whether Roberto Di Matteo will get the job on a permanent basis but that is not stopping the Russian owner from strengthening the Blues squad.
Arsenal full back Bacary Sagna has been linked as a replacement for Jose Bosingwa, who has left the club on a free transfer, but now Ajax’s Van der Wiel is being mentioned as a target.
The defender has admitted he would jump at the chance of a move to Stamford Bridge but says Chelsea have yet to make an approach and until they do it is business as normal.
“I didn’t hear anything from my manager, so they’re just rumours, I think, and we will see in the future what comes,” he revealed.
