West Ham are closing in on a deal for Marseille midfielder Alou Diarra who looks set to join the club for a fee of around £2m.
The 31-year-old was very impressive during Euro 2012 earlier in the summer but he was not as impressive over the season for Marseille after being signed for £4.5m from Bordeaux.
His time at Marseille is looking over though after he reported back from Euro 2012 six days late and was fined £40,000.
The former Liverpool player is due in London for a medical and for talks over personal terms before he completes his move to Upton Park to be part of Sam Allardyce’s new look squad.
