Liverpool have announced the signing of Georginio Wijnaldum from Newcastle United as Jurgen Klopp continues to strengthen his squad ahead of next season.
The 25-year-old midfielder becomes Reds’ seventh summer signing following the arrivals of Loris Karius, Joel Matip, Marko Grujic, Sadio Mane, Ragnar Klavan and Alex Manninger.
The Netherlands international scored 11 goals in 38 league appearances during his debut season in English football following a move from PSV Eindhoven last year.
The German boss Klopp is determined to make sure that his squad is as strong as possible as he gearing up for his first full season in charge at the Merseyside outfit.
The midfielder posted a picture of himself on his official Twitter account and wrote: “Delighted to have signed for @LFC . Can’t wait to see you on Anfield #YNWA”
Wijnaldum will wear the number five shirt at Anfield, and soon link-up with the Liverpool squad for pre-season tour in the USA.
