Liverpool star could miss World Cup

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez could be ruled out of World Cup after suffered a knee injury during the training sessions on Wednesday, according to reports from The Guardian.

The Uruguay international is expected set to undergo knee surgery to his meniscus and the recovery could rule him out for up to six weeks with a mere 20 days left for this summer’s World Cup in Brazil.

Although, there has been no official confirmation came from the Uruguay Football Federation.

The 27-year-old has scored 31 Premier League goals last season, the top goal-scorer. He was named the PFA and Football Writers’ player of the year as well.

Suarez‘s injury will be a major blow for Uruguay, who remains doubtful for the World Cup and he is thought to be one of the biggest threats to England’s in the group stages with their first match against Costa Rica on 14 June followed by England on 19 June and Italy five days later.
