Man United on red alert as Real Madrid ace Toni Kroos wants to move Old Trafford

Manchester United are ready to battle rivals Manchester City for the services of Real Madrid star Toni Kroos.

The Germany international has been in excellent form for the La Liga giants this season, despite reports suggesting the playmaker wanted to make a move away from the Bernabeu.

The Red Devils and the reigning Premier League champions Chelsea were both said to be interested in Kroos’s services last month in January but the Spanish club were reluctant to let him go.

Premier League fans will be hoping that a clash between these two teams for the playmaker’s signature will allow them to enjoy the summer transfer window.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, both Manchester United and City will move for the 26-year-old’s signature this summer. The report suggested it is Kroos’ “dream” to one day play for Man United.

The Red Devils were said to be in the hunt for the German World Cup winner in 2014, before Real Madrid captured him from Bayern Munich.

Kroos’s contract with Real Madrid runs until the summer of 2020.
