Shocking news to Arsenal and England fans, that midfielder Theo Walcott will miss the remaining season and the entire World Cup 2014 due to an injury to his left knee, He picked up the injury during Arsenal’s 2-0 FA Cup win over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
The club announced on their official website www.arsenal.com, that Walcott requires knee surgery and is likely to be out for at least six months, therefore the 24-year-old will miss the rest of the season and the 2014 World Cup in Brazil during summer.
The England Manager, Roy Hodgson has been rocked by this injury that Walcott will be sidelined for six months. The injury is a major blow for the Gunners and England. Arsenal currently sit top of the premier league table and it could be a challenging for the club to secure the number one spot in the second half of the season.
Now, it has been expected that Wenger will look for perfect replacement option in this January transfer market in order to strengthen his squad for the remaining season.
