The Gunners travelled to Greece and bagged an emphatic 3-0 victory over Olympiacos to keep their hope alive, after losing both of their opening two group games.
The 29-year-old Frenchman becomes the first Arsenal man to score a hat-trick in the Champions League away from the home since the legendary Thierry Henry did the same back in 2002 in a 3-1 win over Roma.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to Giroud’s sensational performance at Karaiskakis Stadium.
If Arsenal were ridiculous v Olympiacos at home, they were sublime tonight. Just exceptional. Koscielny, Giroud, Ozil 9/10s

Giroud now has as many CL hat-tricks as Ibrahimovic, Neymar and Mike Newell.

Class performances from Giroud and Campbell tonight, with Koscielny and Cech keeping us in it at the other end. A solid team performance.
