The Frenchman Antoine Griezmann has revealed that Diego Simeone persuade him to join the Atletico Madrid ahead of Arsenal this summer.
The 23-year-old midfielder has been emerged as a primary transfer target for a number of European clubs including PSG and the Gunners after impressing for Real Sociedad.
Ultimately, it was the current La Liga champions – who won the race for the midfielder this summer.
“Why Spain and not elsewhere? This is my championship, my home. I’m happy here and Atletico is a great club. The leaders were willing to pay €30m for me,” Griezmann told France Football (Quoted by the Daily Express).
