Newcastle to table upgraded offer for Marc Guehi
Newcastle United’s pursuit of Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi is heating up as the Magpies prepare to table a third bid for the 24-year-old defender.
Despite two previous offers being rejected, with the latest falling short of Palace’s £65 million asking price, Eddie Howe’s side remains undeterred in their quest to bolster their defence.

Guehi, who has been impressive since his move from Chelsea in 2021, is a standout performer for the Eagles, even earning a spot in Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2024 squad.
With injuries to key defenders Jamaal Lascelles and Sven Botman, Newcastle are eager to add depth and quality to their backline.
Sporting director Paul Mitchell is leading the negotiations for Newcastle and is expected to make an improved offer soon. Whether this third bid will finally meet Crystal Palace’s valuation of their defensive stalwart remains to be seen, but it’s clear that Guehi is at the top of Newcastle’s wish list as the transfer window draws to a close.
