Tottenham keen on Palmeiras striker Flaco Lopez
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly targeting Palmeiras centre-forward Flaco Lopez ahead of a potential summer move, according to Brazilian journalist Diego Firmino via Sport Witness. And honestly, it’s a signing that makes a lot of sense given Spurs’ current attacking woes.
Who Is Flaco Lopez?
The 25-year-old Argentine has been one of South America’s most consistent forwards over the past few seasons. After cutting his teeth at Independiente and Lanús — where he bagged an impressive 22 goals and five assists — Palmeiras snapped him up in 2022. Since arriving at Allianz Parque, Lopez has racked up 62 goals and 18 assists in 190 appearances, playing a key role in Abel Ferreira’s side reaching the CONMEBOL Libertadores final. He’s hit the ground running this season too, already contributing eight goal involvements.

Why Spurs Need Him
Here’s the uncomfortable truth — Tottenham’s forward line simply hasn’t delivered. Richarlison, Solanke, Kolo Muani, and Tel have managed just 12 Premier League goals between them in 27 games. That’s nowhere near good enough for a club with top-four ambitions.
With question marks hanging over Kolo Muani and Tel’s long-term futures at N17, Lopez — available for around £34-39m — could be the clinical presence Spurs desperately need up front.
Competition Is Fierce
Spurs won’t have it easy though. Fulham, West Ham, and Atletico Madrid are all circling. Palmeiras hold 70% of his rights and won’t sell until after the World Cup.
