Liverpool planning shock swoop for Gabri Veiga

According to reports, Liverpool are intensifying their efforts to sign midfielder Gabri Veiga from Celta Vigo, potentially beating Chelsea to his signature.

The Reds have already strengthened their midfield with the addition of Alexis Mac Allister and they are now looking to make further acquisitions.

Veiga is the next player they have set their sights on, and Sport claims that the Merseyside outfit have made a significant contract offer to the youngster.

As a result, they are reportedly in the strongest position to secure the signing of the 21-year-old playmaker, who has expressed interest in a move to the Premier League.

Veiga had an outstanding breakthrough season with Celta, scoring 11 goals and providing four assists in La Liga last season.

His impressive performances have attracted attention from several European clubs, but Liverpool appears determined to outmaneuver the competition for his signature.

Liverpool have yet to enter into negotiations with Celta, but they will be required to pay his full €40 million release clause if they wish to secure his services.

Celta Vigo have made it clear that they will not part ways with their prized asset unless the buy-out clause is activated.
