Tottenham Open to Selling Destiny Udogie in 2027 Amid Injury Concerns

Tottenham Hotspur could listen to offers for left-back Destiny Udogie next year, with the Italian’s injury record and diminished role under Roberto De Zerbi prompting a rethink, according to Football Insider.

Spurs Not Actively Looking to Sell

The North London club are not pushing the 23-year-old towards the exit. However, the report suggests they would sanction a departure if a sizeable bid arrives in 2027. That marks a shift from the summer, when De Zerbi regarded him as central to his plans and Spurs resisted interest from Serie A.

Udogie Struggling for Minutes

Udogie has started only two of Tottenham’s opening seven Premier League fixtures and sits behind Andy Robertson in the pecking order. He will also miss this weekend’s trip to Chelsea through injury, having missed the whole of pre-season.

Fitness Record a Growing Concern

Since joining from Udinese in 2022, and returning from a loan spell there a year later, Udogie has made 100 appearances for the club. Knee, muscle and hamstring problems have cost him roughly 36 matches for club and country over three years, which has made it difficult for him to build any real momentum.

Our Take

Udogie’s talent has never been in question, and his recent display against Manchester United showed what he offers when fit. Yet availability matters enormously at this level, and Spurs may feel a high fee for a player with such a patchy record is too good to ignore. Much will depend on whether he can stay fit and force his way past Robertson in the coming months.
