Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool Alert to AIK Wonderkid Kevin Filling

Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have all sent scouts to run the rule over Swedish teenager Kevin Filling, with the AIK forward emerging as one of the most sought-after young talents in Scandinavian football.

Reports in Sweden suggest representatives from all three Premier League heavyweights have watched Filling closely this season, and a formal move for the striker could materialise before too long.

Who Is Kevin Filling?

Filling is hardly a household name yet, but that looks set to change. Standing at 1.85m, the powerfully built forward has already forced his way into AIK’s senior side, clocking up 31 appearances and contributing to 10 goals this campaign. His physical presence, top-end pace and versatility across the front line have turned heads well beyond Stockholm, and AIK are reportedly ready to demand a fee in the region of €25 million should a suitor come calling.

Could Filling Head to the Premier League?

Arsenal’s recent swoop for Blackburn’s Igor Tyjon shows Mikel Arteta’s willingness to gamble on raw, project-style forwards, and Filling would fit that mould neatly — potentially even nearer first-team involvement than most teenage arrivals. Chelsea appear to share a similar outlook, with suggestions they too see him as a long-term project rather than a straight academy signing. Liverpool, interestingly, are said to favour a more gradual pathway, easing him into the academy before any senior involvement.

None of the three have lodged an approach with AIK so far, though that could shift quickly if Filling’s form keeps trending upward heading into the January window.

Personally, I’d be surprised if Liverpool’s patient approach wins out here — modern Premier League strikers rarely get eased in gently anymore, and a club willing to fast-track him may hold the advantage. Arsenal’s track record with young forwards makes them worth watching closest of all.
