Ajax lining up swoop for Steven Bergwijn?

Tottenham Hotspur winger Steven Bergwijn has emerged as a transfer target for Ajax, according to a report.

The 23-year-old forward joined Spurs from PSV Eindhoven in 2020, but has struggled to make an impact with just four goals in 51 appearances.

Bergwijn remains contracted to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium until the summer of 2025, but the north Londoners are thought to be open to a sale amid his poor performance in the Premier League.

According to De Telegraaf, Ajax are keeping tabs on Bergwijn’s situation and are ready to launch a €15m (£12.8m) for the Netherlands international.

However, the report claims that Daniel Levy is unlikely to consider offers below €25m, and the Premier League giants are under no pressure to sell given that he still has four years remaining on his contract.

Bergwijn has scored one goal and registered seven assists from 35 appearances in all competitions during the 2020-21 season.
