Arsenal planning Lisandro Martinez move
|Arsenal have reportedly joined the list of clubs wanting to sign Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez.
The Gunners have already secured a deal for Porto playmaker Fabio Vieira this summer.
If reports are to be believed, Man City striker Gabriel Jesus will be the next man through the door in a transfer worth £45m.
It is understood, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta wants further competition in the defensive third.
Earlier this month, it was suggested that Arsenal failed with their opening bid for Ajax centre-back Martinez, who chalked up 24 appearances in the Eredivisie last season.
According to The Daily Mail, the Gunners have tabled a much higher offer than their first proposal which was believed to be worth £25m.
The North Londoners are said to have offered the Dutch outfit a fee of £34m, lower than Ajax’s valuation.
The report outlines that Manchester United are also keeping tabs on the Argentine’s situation with manager Erik ten Hag working with the striker prior to his switch to Old Trafford.
