Arsenal to rival Newcastle United for Djibril Sow

Arsenal are reportedly ready to lock horns with Newcastle United over the signature of Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Djibril Sow.

According to Bild, the Gunners and the Magpies are vying for the Swiss international, who has 19 months left on his deal, which could open the door for a departure in January.

Over the summer, the Bundesliga outfit rejected a £22m bid from Nottingham Forest as they look more money from suitors. As the midfielder remained with the club, he could become the subject of offers from the English sides.

The 25-year-old midfielder brings an energetic presence, which Mikel Arteta is looking for in the mid-season market. the North Londoners are looking at multiple options, including Ismael Bennaccer and Danilo.

Sow racked up 24 appearances during 2022/23. He’s made six appearances in the Champions League and it would appear that Frankfurt are fighting a seriously big battle to try and keep hold of their key asset

The midfielder has made 137 appearances for Frankfurt in total.
