Chelsea considering move for Alvaro Morata?

Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata is reportedly the subject of interest from Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel.

Following the departures of Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner, the Blues are looking to strengthen their front line before the transfer window shuts down.

The West Londoners are allegedly in advanced talks with Barcelona over a proposed move to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on a permanent deal.

Tuchel is keen on reuniting with the Gabonese, who chalked up 79 goals during his time at Borussia Dortmund.

“I enjoyed a lot working with [Aubameyang], it was a pleasure. This has nothing to do with the situation now, but some players stay your players because you were very, very close and Auba is one of those players,” Tuchel told reporters.

“We had a very close relationship. Always when he played here with Arsenal, it was straight away this close bond. They always stay your players in a way and Auba is one of those players.”

Sport claims that Chelsea will contemplate a move for Atletico Madrid striker Morata, who spent two seasons in West London, scoring 24 goals from 72 appearances in all competitions.

The 29-year-old joined Los Rojiblancos permanently in the summer of 2020 but was then loaned out to the Italian giants Juventus where he has spent the last two seasons, contributing 32 goals and 21 assists in 92 appearances.

The Spain international has now returned to Atletico and has made an impressive start to the new season under Diego Simeone.

Morata has two years left to run on his contract at Wanda Metropolitano.
