Liverpool monitoring Red Bull Salzburg’s Luka Sucic

Liverpool have reportedly expressed an interest in making an audacious move for Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Luka Sucic.

The 19-year-old midfielder has been a consistent first-team starter for the Austrian champions. He concluded the 2021-22 season with 11 goals in 44 maths in all competitions in addition to contributing five assists.

The Croatia international has a contract at the Red Bull Arena until the summer of 2025, but Salzburg could face an uphill battle to keep hold of him.

According to Salzburger Nachrichten, the Premier League giants Liverpool are keeping a close eye on Sucic’s development after manager Jurgen Klopp was impressed with what he saw in a pre-season friendly.

Sucic has scored 13 goals and registered six assists from 73 outings in a Salzburg shirt.

The Reds’ current midfield options have been struggling in recent weeks, with Thiago Alcantara was withdrawn with a hamstring problem against Fulham last week, and he could be out of action for a six-week spell.
