The Portugal international could be leaving the Bernabeu in the summer, and has been strongly linked with a move to French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Spanish journalist Guillem Balague claims that the 30-year-old would prefer to return to his former club Manchester United, and the report has suggested the Red Devils are exploring the possibility of a January move for the Portuguese superstar to offer him a contract worth more than £15m-per-year.
Ronaldo, who joined Real Madrid from Man United in 2009, is believed to be seeking for a new challenge after a seven-year career with Spanish giants.
