Report: Man Utd to launch €48m for Mats Hummels

Manchester United are ready to pay the massive €48 million to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Mats Hummels this summer, reports the Daily Express.

The Red Devils have only conceded 31 goals in 33 Premier league games this season, and the English club are expected to bolster their defensive department at the end of the season.

Hummels, 26, is considered as one of the leading defenders in Europe, but the World Cup winner struggled to consistently play at their best during the current campaign.

The report has suggested that Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp’s impending decision to leave the club could motivate Hummels to look out for a new challenge.

Manchester United have spent over £150 million last summer, and they are likely to spend more this summer so that they can challenge for the title.

Hummels helped BVB to the Bundesliga title in 2011, the league cup and German Cup double in 2012, and guiding the German club to the 2013 Champions League final.

The Old Trafford side are currently third in the league table and most probably they qualified for the Champions league next season.
