Manchester City keen on Alexis Mac Allister

Manchester City are reportedly targeting Brighton & Hove Albion’s Alexis Mac Allister as part of their summer midfield overhaul, as per Fichajes.

The Argentine, who is valued at €40 million, is attracting interest from several top clubs.

City head coach Pep Guardiola is interested in bringing Mac Allister to the team as he aims to rejuvenate the squad.

The Sky Blues has been a dominant force in English football in recent years, with Guardiola leading the team to multiple Premier League titles and other domestic trophies.

Despite having one of the strongest squads in the league, Guardiola is looking to make changes for the summer.

Guardiola is worried about the future of his midfield following the end of the current season, as two key players Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva may seek new opportunities, with Gundogan attracting the attention of Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Silva is being monitored by big the Spanish giants after almost leaving last summer. If the two leave, Guardiola will need to strengthen his midfield through the transfer market, with several prominent targets being mentioned in media reports.

Manchester City’s interest in acquiring Mac Allister could steer the competition in a new direction, as Guardiola favours swift and discreet transfers. Brighton are expected to ask for more than the reported €40 million price tag.

The pursuit of the 24-year-old midfielder will be challenging as multiple clubs, such as Liverpool and Chelsea, will also be competing for his signature.

Mac Allister will be a valuable addition for Guardiola as he seeks to replace Gundogan and Silva in the same transfer period.
