Manchester City want Toni Kroos in January

Manchester City have reportedly placed emphasis on signing Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos in the January transfer window, according to Ekrem Konur.

The Premier League champions are closely monitoring the German’s situation at the Bernabeu with his current contract set to expire next summer.

Los Blancos are in negotiations with the 32-year-old over a new contract, but the midfielder has stalled on putting pen to paper on a new deal.

He will be free to negotiate pre-contract terms with foreign clubs in January, and Pep Guardiola’s side are waiting to pounce if he does not find an agreement with Real Madrid.

The ex-Germany international has spent eight years in Madrid since his €25m move from Bayern Munich in 2014, racking up 370 appearances for the club.
