Newcastle United considering move for Francisco Trincao

Newcastle United have reportedly made an approach to sign 23-year-old Sporting Lisbon forward Francisco Trincao as Eddie Howe seeks attacking reinforcements in the summer.

According to Torcedores, The Magpies are considering a potential move for the Portugal international during the summer transfer window.

Newcastle had an unexpected season, with Eddie Howe’s side achieving a remarkable victory over Manchester United on Sunday, pushing them into third place and making them favourites to finish in the top four.

If Newcastle qualify for Europe’s top-tier competition, they could make even more signings. One of their key requirements will be to bring in attacking reinforcements.

The Tyneside outfit are still linked to a new striker. However, Howe’s priority would be to sign a new right winger. With a shortage of players on that side, the manager recently deployed Jacob Murphy in place of Miguel Almiron.

Now, there are reports that Newcastle United could make a surprise move for Francisco Trincao, who has enjoyed a successful season with Sporting CP and remains a Barcelona key player and has spent the last two seasons on loan.
