Reports: Liverpool eye January move for Napoli star Marek Hamsik

The Merseyside giants Liverpool are reportedly planning a January swoop for Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik, according to the Daily Star.

The Reds manager Brendan Rodgers, who spent a lot of money to built a whole new squad in the summer transfer window following the departure of Luis Suarez to Barcelona.

He is now allegedly, looking for an attacking midfielder option to add to his squad by signing the Slovakian midfielder Hamsik from Serie A club Napoli in the winter transfer market.

The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with top Premier League clubs in the past after his stellar performance in the Italian top flight, scoring 11 goals in 44 appearances for his club last season.

Hamsik joined Napoli in 2007 for €5.5 million, has not been at his best so far this season, scoring just six in 35 appearances.
