Schalke 04 keen on Chelsea striker Fernando Torres

Bundesliga club Schalke 04 are reportedly interested in acquiring the services of Chelsea striker Fernando Torres in January, according to German newspaper Bild.
Torres, 30, who is currently serving his loan spell with the Italian giants AC Milan, valid until his Blues contract expires in 2016.
The report claims that Schalke 04 manager Roberto Di Matteo could launch a £50 million January bid for the Spaniard, who helped the Blues lift the Champions League silverware in 2012.
The former Chelsea manager Di Matteo believes that Torres can still perform at the highest level in Germany, who has struggled for form at the San Siro, scoring just one goal in five appearances this season.
