Tottenham Hotspur keeping tabs on Allan Saint-Maximin?

Tottenham Hotspur are said to be keen on acquiring the services of Allan Saint-Maximin from Newcastle United.

The Frenchman has become extremely popular among the fans in Tyneside since his arrival at St. James’ Park from Nice in the summer of 2019.

The midfielder has scored 13 goals and registered 21 assists in 119 appearances for the Magpies.

Although Saint-Maximin’s contract runs until June 2026, recent reports suggest that the Tyneside outfit may be open to selling the 26-year-old during the summer transfer window.

The France international desires a contract extension with a higher salary, but the Magpies are hesitant to meet his demands.

According to The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur have made an approach to sign Saint-Maximin in the summer transfer window.

It is reported that Spurs have admired Saint-Maximin for a while and have previously inquired about his availability during the January transfer window.

As Lucas Moura is set to depart on a free transfer and Arnaut Danjuma’s loan spell at Villarreal is expected to end, the Lilywhites are looking to bring in a winger for the 2023-24 season.

AC Milan have shown interest, but Newcastle United’s asking price may hinder their chances of signing the talented winger.

Reports suggest that Newcastle United will aim to negotiate a fee that could potentially reach £50 million, which would generate a significant profit compared to the £16.5 million they initially paid Nice in 2019.

Saint-Maximin has scored once and provided five assists in 20 appearances this season. However, the midfielder has been sidelined for the last four matches due to a hamstring injury.
