Estevao Willian Frustrated at Chelsea Over Minutes Under Xabi Alonso as January Talks Loom
Estevao Willian is reportedly growing restless at Stamford Bridge, with a sit-down over his future expected if his playing time fails to improve, according to TEAMtalk.

Limited Game Time Fuelling Discontent
The 19-year-old Brazilian joined Chelsea in the summer of 2025 and impressed in his debut campaign, registering 12 goal involvements in 36 appearances. He anticipated a bigger part to play this term, but the reality has been very different.
Just 172 minutes across eight appearances is all he has managed so far, including only 47 in the Premier League. He is yet to register a goal or assist, and he was left on the bench for the home defeat to Tottenham on Saturday.
Crowded Attack Making Life Difficult
Competition has proved fierce. The arrival of Morgan Rogers and the rising influence of Pedro Neto have made it tougher for Estevao to break into Alonso’s starting XI. The contrast with international duty is striking, as he started two of Brazil’s recent friendlies.
Alonso has asked his fringe players to stay patient, but the teenager is keen to establish himself rather than watch from the sidelines.
Chelsea Determined to Keep Him
The Blues are said to have no interest in selling or even loaning out a player they regard as a generational talent. Even so, January could prompt a rethink if his minutes remain scarce, and talks may be needed to clarify his role.
Our Take
Patience is understandable at this stage, but Estevao’s international form suggests he is ready for more. Chelsea would be wise to find him regular minutes, even from the bench, before frustration turns into a transfer saga.
