Arsenal considering bid for Djibril Sow

Arsenal are keen on securing Djibril Sow’s deal, despite his agreement to join Lazio for €15 million from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Calcio Mercato reports that the Gunners are looking to disrupt Lazio’s deal for the Swiss international.

Although the North Londoners have already spent over €200 million on three first-team players in this transfer window, they are not done reinforcing the squad. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta seems open to further signings to strengthen the team.

Currently, Arsenal’s squad consists of around 29-30 players, which may not be ideal. To balance the squad, some players like Rob Holding, Folarin Balogun, Sambi Lokonga, and Kieran Tierney could leave if suitable offers come in.

Fans are concerned that Arteta hasn’t adequately replaced Granit Xhaka in the midfield. While Kai Havertz remains a forward player. There are doubts about whether a new midfielder will be signed before the transfer window closes.

Despite previous links to Romeo Lavia, the Gunners may have found a solution with Sow to address the midfield gap. While Moises Caicedo and Mohammed Kudus were also linked, Arteta seems to be compartmentalising his resources.

The late interest from the Gunners have made Sow rethink his move to Lazio. Arsenal are now the favourite to sign the 26-year-old midfielder, potentially paying a similar fee to Lazio’s agreement with Frankfurt

Sow’s addition could provide much needed depth to the team as they return to the Champions League next season.
