Arsenal set to pip Chelsea to the signing of Denzel Dumfries

Arsenal are reportedly set to pip Chelsea to the signature of Inter Milan right-back Denzel Dumfries.

The Blues were interested in the Netherlands international over the summer, but a move did not materialise. He is still believed to be a key target for the west Londoners, but this time they will face competition from the Premier League rivals Arsenal.

The Italian giants are understood to value the Dutchman at €40m.

However, Calciomercatoweb reports that Arsenal would only be willing to pay up to €35m for the 26-year-old defender.

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta is currently using Ben White, who attracted widespread interest from across Europe this season, even earning a spot in England’s World Cup squad.

Dumfries has made 25 appearances so far this season, as Inter Milan sit fifth in the Italian top flight, contributing two goals and three assists in all competitions.
