Arsenal striker hints at Emirates exit
|Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski has hinted that he might leave the Emirates Stadium because of a lack of first-team football this season.
The German striker, who joined the north London club from FC Koln in 2012, has been substitute in Gunners’ four of last eight games, and insists that if the situation continues then he must switch a move away from the club.
“I am a full blooded player, a street player and I love competition,” the 29-year-old told RTL in quotes reported by The Independent. “If I don’t have this competition every weekend then a change must occur.”
Podolski has scored 28 goals in 73 appearances for the Gunners, who made just 14 Premier League outing last term and with the arrivals of Sanchez and Welbeck – it makes further limited his role in Wenger’s starting eleven plans.
The Gunners are currently ranks fourth in the league table and ready to face Chelsea coming up on sunday at Stamford Bridge.
