Barcelona sporting director Deco is reportedly keeping a close eye on Estevao Willian’s situation at Chelsea, with the teenager’s limited minutes under Xabi Alonso fuelling talk about his long-term future at Stamford Bridge, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.
The Brazilian, regarded as one of the finest young wide players in world football, enjoyed a breakthrough campaign at Chelsea last season. Those displays were strong enough to earn World Cup consideration with Brazil, only for a late injury to rule him out. Since returning, he has been eased back gradually, which may explain Alonso’s cautious approach. Estevao has played just 23 minutes of Premier League football this term, although he has enjoyed plenty of action in the EFL Cup.
