Chelsea lead race to sign Dusan Vlahovic
|Reports suggest that Chelsea are currently in the lead to secure the signing of Juventus ace Dusan Vlahovic in the summer transfer window.
The Serbia international, who has struggled to make an impact during his time with Juventus, has scored only 23 goals and provided six assists in 62 games.
He is likely to be allowed to leave the club this summer. Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Chelsea are keen on acquiring his services.
The Blues have already initiated discussions with Juventus representatives, proposing a player-plus-cash deal instead of meeting the €80 million price tag. The Serbian potentially offered in exchange are Christian Pulisic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, or Trevoh Chalobah, with the aim of reducing the transfer fee.
Juventus have not yet responded to Chelsea’s transfer offer and have requested time to evaluate the proposal.
Chelsea are currently facing financial challenges and needs to balance their books before June 30 to avoid violating Financial Fair Play regulations.
Consequently, they are unable to make high-value signings at the moment. The club are reliant on player sales or swap deals to address their current situation.
