Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a move to bring AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori back to the Premier League. The €40 million-rated English centre-back has impressed with his performances for Milan since joining from Chelsea in 2021.
Tomori, who played a crucial role in Milan’s Serie A title win in 2021/22 and their Champions League semi-final run last season, has caught the attention of Manchester United.
Despite his stellar form in Italy, Tomori has struggled to secure a regular spot in the England national team, with manager Gareth Southgate favouring Harry Maguire. However, Tomori’s standout performance against Newcastle United in the Champions League, including a goal-saving tackle, may have reignited interest from Southgate and Manchester United.
While Milan are optimistic about retaining Tomori, reports suggest that Man United are keen on a Premier League return for the 25-year-old. Milan’s financial constraints may open the door for a potential transfer, with the club needing funds for squad upgrades. Although there are no plans to let Tomori leave mid-season, a summer move is a serious possibility, with United pressing to secure his signing amid uncertainties surrounding Raphael Varane’s future.
If the move materialises, Tomori could serve as a long-term replacement in United’s defence. The €40 million valuation is considered reasonable in comparison to other deals involving the Red Devils, making the potential transfer a realistic prospect in the near future.
