German superstar Ilkay Gundogan to miss Euro 2016

The Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan will not be able to play for his national team Germany at Euro 2016 after suffering a dislocated kneecap during training.

The 25-year-old will also miss the DFB-Pokal final against Bayern Munich and is expected to sidelined for a couple of months, the club has confirmed.

The Playmaker will definitely miss the Euro Championship this year in France and that could also affect any potential summer move away, with the Premier League giants Manchester City were heavily linked with the German superstar recently.

Gundogan has made 48 league appearances in the last two seasons for BVB after missing almost all the entire 2013-14 campaign because of a back injury.

The Bundesliga giants are currently five points behind the league leaders Bayern Munich with two matches left to play.
