Liverpool lining up move for Christopher Nkunku?

Liverpool are reportedly ready to lock horns with Chelsea over the signature of RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku.

Although the 24-year-old forward is contracted with Leipzig until June 2026, he is being heavily linked with a move away from the Bundesliga outfit at the end of the current season.

A recent report suggested that the Blues are hoping to secure a deal to sign the France international before the World Cup begins next month .

However, according to The Sun, Liverpool are ready to make an attempt to hijack Chelsea’s bid after scouting Nkunku in Leipzig’s 2-0 Champions League win over Celtic last Tuesday.

Despite showing an interest in signing the Frenchman, there is a feeling among the Reds’ hierarchy that it will be difficult to beat the Blues to the player’s signature.

Nkunku has scored 57 times and registered 48 assists in 152 appearances for Leipzig since joining the club in July 2019.
