Luka Vuskovic Transfer: Liverpool and Chelsea Eye Brighton Defender
Reds and Blues Monitor Brighton Centre-Back
Liverpool and Chelsea are reportedly weighing up a move for Brighton defender Luka Vuskovic, according to TEAMtalk. Both clubs are pushing for a top-five Premier League finish, with Champions League qualification seen as a major selling point in any negotiations.

The 19-year-old Croatian has impressed since arriving at the Amex from Tottenham Hotspur, and he is now being tipped as one of the division’s most promising centre-backs. Transfermarkt values him at £55 million, and with his contract running until 2031, Brighton are in no hurry to sell cheaply.
Why Liverpool May Have the Edge
Liverpool currently sit fourth, with Chelsea one place behind. However, Arne Slot’s side may be better placed to move, given the need for defensive reinforcement. Virgil van Dijk is getting older, and depth at the back is thin, so a long-term successor could be a priority.
Vuskovic is strong in the air and in one-on-one duels. He also reads the game well and stays calm in possession, which suits a side looking to build from the back.
Chelsea’s Priorities Lie Elsewhere
Chelsea added Maxence Lacroix to their ranks this summer, and their attention may turn to midfield next. That makes a bidding war for Vuskovic seem less likely.
Our Take
Brighton have a track record of holding firm on valuations, so any suitor will need deep pockets. Liverpool look the more natural fit, though Chelsea’s resources mean they cannot be ruled out entirely. Much will depend on who secures Champions League football.
