LVG believes David De Gea will remain with Man United

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal remains confident that goalkeeper De Gea will remain at Old Trafford.

De Gea, 24, who is expected to leave the Red Devils this summer, as he is being contacted by other clubs.

Most probably, the Spaniard could make a move to Real Madrid, but Van Gaal remains optimistic that the shot-stopper will remain at the Theatre of Dreams.

“I believe still that David De Gea shall stay,” van Gaal said.

De Gea’s contract is valid until 2016 and extending his deal will be essential to the club’s prospects as they are qualified for the Champions League next season.

It would be a major loss if the goalie leaves the club this summer, who was named the Manchester United player of the year.
