Manchester City Keen on Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen
|Manchester City are ready to make a summer move for Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen, according to Goal.
The future of Spurs centre-back seems to be an unsettled at White Hart Lane, who has struggled to make an impact with just 11 starts this term despite being named in the PFA team of the season 2012–13 after a fine debut.
It is obvious that the Lilywhites will open the door for Vertonghen’s exit at the end of the season.
It is understood, City keen on the Belgian international to partner with captain Vincent Kompany in order to strengthen their defence in the summer.
Having spent two years in the English Premier League, Vertonghen joined Tottenham in July 2012 from Ajax and the 26-year-old seems to be an ideal option at the Etihad Stadium, who has managed 81 appearances for the North London club to date.
