Manchester United make move to Wojciech Szczesny
|Manchester United have reportedly made an approach to sign Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.
According to Tutto Mercato, the Red Devils are considering making a move for the 32-year-old stopper, who may be seeking a new challenge. He has been linked with a return to England, having previously played for Arsenal.
The Poland international has been a reliable player since joining the Old Lady, after impressing on loan at Roma following a difficult spell at the Emirates. However, with his current contract set to expire in 2024, the Italian giants may be considering a change in goalkeeping personnel, and Szczesny could be looking for a new opportunity.
Various media outlets have speculated about a possible move back to the Premier League, with Tottenham Hotspur reportedly showing interest.
There is a possibility that Szczesny may be open to considering Manchester United as an option, as the club remains interested in him. The decision to either replace David De Gea or keep him is still being deliberated by Erik ten Hag.
Given the uncertainty surrounding De Gea’s future, the 20-time English champions are already exploring other options, including Szczesny, who may not necessarily be a direct replacement for De Gea but is a viable option.
However, Szczesny is unlikely to join any other club if he’s not guaranteed a prominent role.
