Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that the Blues will be signing a goalkeeper in the coming future as they cannot wait until the next transfer window in January, according to the Daily Star.
The west London club are currently without their first choice goalie Thibaut Courtois, who is ruled out of action until Christmas with a knee injury. This leaves Asmir Begovic as the only option at Stamford Bridge, with two youngsters Jamal Blackman and Mitchell Beeney in hold.
The Portuguese boss has now claimed that the Premier League champions will sign a goalkeeper very soon. “We need a goalkeeper now, not in January.” he said.
The manager believe that Italian goalkeeper Marco Amelia could be the ideal man that the Blues are chasing, who is a free agent after being released by Serie B outfit Perugia in the summer.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the 33-year-old who was part of Italy’s 2006 World Cup-winning squad is expected to be handed a contract on a short-term basis in the next few days.
