Premier League Manager of the Month: Pellegrini or Pardew?

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has been shortlisted for the first Premier League Manager of the Month award this year after guiding his side to a perfect record in the month of August.

The Citizens have won all four games last month, including a dramatic 3-0 home victory against the English champions Chelsea, leaving the likes of Man United, Arsenal and especially the West Londoners further down the league table.

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew is currently in the second place and he is also nominated for the manager of the month award – thanks to three wins in four games, including a victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, City are hopeful to continue early Premier League surge against Crystal Palace, when the both team will meet on Saturday at Selhurst Park.

The Eagles have won three games including a match against Norwich City, Aston Villa and Chelsea.

Their only defeat came from the Gunners this season, resulted 2nd place in the league table behind Pellegrini’s side Manchester City.

The French-born Malian midfielder Bakary Sako will a man to watch for Palace with Yohan Cabaye and Wilfred Zaha also be the key player for hosts this time.

Citizens are tipped as number one favourites for the EPL title this season but it’s still a long way ahead.
