Radamel Falcao has claimed that he wanted to join Manchester United, despite rumours claiming that he had his interest in a move to European champions Real Madrid.
The 28-year-old striker has officially signed for the Red Devils on the deadline day (yesterday) on a season-long loan from the Ligue 1 side AS Monaco.
Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague told Sky Sports News that the Colombian international wanted a switch to Los Blancos, but a move to Bernabeu failed to materialise.
However, after completing his move to Old Trafford – Falcao clarified that his decision to join the Red Devils was his decision, he wrote on Twitter:
Reports have also suggested that Falcao has become United’s best-paid player, reported £350,000-a-week.
