Rodgers eyes move for Chelsea youngster Thorgan Hazard
|Liverpool are reportedly in talks with Premier league rivals Chelsea over a potential summer move for midfielder Thorgan Hazard, according to reports from the Metro.
The Belgium international has spent the last two successful seasons on loan at Zulte Waregem, where he has 16 goals so far this season. Thorgan is however yet to make a senior appearance for the Blues.
This has alerted Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, who approached Jose Mourinho to begin transfer talks for highly-rated young midfielder, although Everton and Schalke are also said to be interested in Thorgan’s signature.
Following with his stunning performance at Belgian Pro League, the 21-year-old winger has been included in the Belgium’s 30-man squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
It has been reported that Hazard is valued to be around £6million, meaning Rodgers can afford in this summer.
