Brendan Rodgers keen on Spaniard goalkeeper Victor Valdes

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has reportedly keeping an eye on former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes, as the reports have suggested that the Spaniard would join the Reds next month.

It is understood that Rodgers is keen to bring in a new shot-stopper to provide a competition with number one Simon Mignolet, and Victor Valdes is seems to be an ideal option at Anfield.

Valdes, 32, who is a free agent after his release from the Catalan club earlier this summer – due to his cruciate ligament injury earlier this year, the former Barca man will not be fit until November.

However, the Mersysiders are willing to wait until next month to secure his signature as he does not have a club.

Rodgers was asked about Valdes’s move in a press conference and he replied: “First I’ve heard of it.”

It remains to be seen whether the Reds will choose Valdes in the future however.

We believe that Rodgers will continue his winning streak in Premier League this season, as they are currently sit on fifth place and ready to face Aston Villa in Premier League action at Anfield – Tomorrow, 5:30 BST.
