The Argentine winger Di Maria was unveiled as a Man United asset after completing his British record £59.7 million move from La Liga giants Real Madrid, who will wear the No. 7 shirt at Old Trafford.
The 26-year-old versatile attacker is likely to make his debut this weekend against Burnley FC in Premier League action.
“I wish Di Maria well. He is a fantastic player who will do well at Old Trafford,” said Ronaldo. “I believe only the best wear the No.7 jersey.”
“And I said to him that number seven is a big responsibility, but I think he will be able to take that shirt because he’s a fantastic player.”
