“Ibrahimovic’s situation is simple,” Mourinho said.
“He has one plus one [on his contract]. We are happy with him. We are going to execute the option of a second season.”
Ibrahimovic has scored four goals in his first four league games but has failed to hit any such hopes since.
Here are the mixed reactions from fans around the world..
@FullTimeDEVILS I’d much rather see Martial/Rashford playing upfront than Zlatan the liability. He’s blocking the path for the youth #mufc

It makes no sense for us to keep Zlatan for the extra year, in many ways he’s holding the club back because everything centred around him

If Zlatan’s finishing doesn’t improve I don’t think I’ll make it to 2018.

One of Rooney or Zlatan was always staying next season. So happy it is Ibrahimovic

Zlatan staying, reverting to 433 and (if true if course) chasing Griezmann does sort of imply Rooney not in the plans after the summer.

Zlatan will be at United until 2018. CONFIRMED! He wants that premier league title. He’s a winner!
