Wenger to launch £23m bid for Real Madrid star

Arsenal are reportedly planning to launch a £23m bid for Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira this summer, according to the report from the Mirror.

It’s understood the Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is desperately looking to bolster his squad before the start of next season and has made midfielder a priority along with a back-up goalkeeper.

The midfielder is currently on an international duty with the German squad at World Cup in Brazil. He is widely seen as the ideal replacement for Mikel Arteta at the Emirates.

The Germany international has been at the Champions League holder for four years, whose contract at the Bernabeu expires next season. He has been linked with an exit from the Primera Division club this summer with no renewed terms forthcoming.

Meanwhile, Chelsea and Manchester United are also said to be interested in Khedira’s signature. However, as per the recent reports – it seems like Wenger is keen on the 27-year-old midfielder and ready to bring him at the Emirates by submitting a £23m bid for the player.

Khedira’s arrival could be a boost to compatriot Mesut Ozil, who were also teammates during their time in Los Blancos.
