Wenger’s Top-Five Summer Targets

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is desperately looking to add top five quality players to his ranks this summer.

The Gunners have been linked with number of stars around the Europe in recent weeks after winning their first trophy for 9 years in the FA Cup final last season and the latest report from the Daily Star suggested that Wenger has made his priority to sign top-five stars including two-new strikers before the season starts.

Arsenal have been linked Italian striker Mario Balotelli, who could leave AC Milan this summer and as per the recent reports – £25 million fee has been rumoured for his signature. The 23-year-old striker has scored 18 goals in 41 appearances for Milan in all competition last season.

Arsenal have also been linked with Croatia’s Mario Mandzukic, who plays as a forward for German Champions Bayern Munich. With the arrival of Robert Lewandowski from Borussia Dortmund, who will join the Bavarians next month, It appears Mandzukic future at the Allianz Arena is uncertain, despite his stellar performance last season, where the 28-year-old striker has scored 26 goals in 48 appearances.

The third target is Ivory Coast defender Serge Aurier, who is thought to be joining the Gunners after announcing to a fan that he was interested in a move to the north London club. The 21-year-old, who plays for the French club Toulouse, has made 70 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit, since 2012.
It’s understood that Wenger is keen to sign right-back after Bacary Sagna’s departure and Aurier looks to be the ideal replacement at Emirates.

The Arsenal boss is also keeping an eye on Alexis Sanchez of Barcelona who could leave the La Liga giants this summer. The 25-year-old Chilean striker has scored 21 goals, provided 15 assists in 54 appearances for the Catalan club last season. He could be available in the region of £25m.

The Frenchman – Wenger is also looking for a back-up goalkeeper for Wojciech Szczesny following Lukasz Fabianski departure last month.
