Besiktas target Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva?
|Turkish outfit Besiktas are reportedly keeping an eye on Liverpool winger Lucas Leiva.
The Brazilian midfielder, who has spent nine seasons with the Merseyside outfit, recently admitted that his future at Liverpool is uncertain and he might be looking for a move this summer.
“There have been some changes last season, with the coaching change,” the 29-year-old south american told Brazilian radio station Radio Jovem Pan.
“I still do not know exactly what will be my role within the group, but I am returning (to England) on Thursday to start the pre-season.
“It is the first transfer window in which Klopp will participate more actively in Liverpool, so I’ll just get a better idea when I return.
“Whatever happens, the idea, as always, is to stay in Europe, especially in England, which has a very strong and good league to play.”
With the likes of Emre Can, Jordan Henderson and James Milner ahead of him, Leiva could be forced to depart this summer with the Super Lig champions now a potential move for the former Gremio player who has been with the Reds since 2007.
